This Privacy Policy explains how Ship It Badger (shipitbadger.com), operated by Shorewood Tech LLC ("we", "us", "our"), collects, uses, and protects your personal data.
The short version: We collect only what we need to run the service. We don't sell your data. We don't share it with advertisers. We encrypt sensitive content. You can export or delete your data anytime.
1. What We Collect
Account Information:
- Email address
- Display name and profile picture (from your OAuth provider)
Your Content:
- Projects, milestones, tasks
- Diary entries and notes
- Work sessions and check-ins
- Any other content you create in Ship It Badger
Usage Data:
- Log data (IP address, browser type, pages visited)
- Feature usage (which tools you use, how often)
- Device information (for troubleshooting)
Payment Information:
- Handled entirely by Lemonsqueezy
- We do not store your credit card details
2. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to:
- Provide and operate Ship It Badger
- Process your subscription and payments
- Send you service-related emails (password resets, billing, important updates)
- Improve the product based on usage patterns
- Respond to support requests
We do NOT:
- Sell your data to anyone
- Share your data with advertisers
- Use your data for marketing purposes beyond our own service
- Train AI models on your content
- Mine your content for any purpose other than providing the service
3. Data Security
We take security seriously:
- Encryption at rest: Sensitive data like diary entries, notes, and project details are encrypted using XChaCha20-Poly1305
- Encryption in transit: All data transmitted via HTTPS/TLS
- Authentication: OAuth 2.0 (we never store passwords)
- Secure cookies: httpOnly cookies, rate limiting on all endpoints
- Input sanitization: Protection against common attacks
4. Data Retention
- Active accounts: Your data is retained while your subscription is active
- After cancellation: We aim to keep your data in a frozen state for up to 1 year when possible, so you can come back and pick up where you left off
- After deletion request: We delete your data within 30 days of your request
- Backups: Backups containing your data are purged within 90 days of deletion
5. Your Rights
You can, at any time:
- Access your data: View everything you've stored in Ship It Badger
- Export your data: Download all your data in JSON or CSV format — even after your subscription ends
- Delete your data: Request full deletion of your account and all associated data — even after your subscription ends
- Correct your data: Update any information in your account

8. Children's Privacy
Ship It Badger is not intended for users under 16 years old. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International Data
Ship It Badger is operated from the United States. If you're accessing from outside the US, your data will be transferred to and processed in the US. By using the service, you consent to this transfer.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you via email or in-app notice. Continued use of the service after changes means you accept the updated policy.
